Does Maple Leaf Dental have parking?

Although we regret to inform you that we do not have a parking lot available for our patients, there is free street parking in the residential areas neighboring our building. If you are getting dropped off for your appointment, there is a load/unload zone around the corner from our building on 80th Street facing Northeast.

Do you accept walk-in patients?

Unfortunately, we do not accept walk-in patients due to the demand of our schedule. If you are in need of immediate care, we suggest a walk-in clinic where you are guaranteed to receive care the same day. Otherwise, we would be happy to see you a different day.

What will happen at my first dental visit?

Upon your first dental visit, we do require extra time with you in order to get you established at our office. Adults over the age of 18 can expect the first appointment to be anywhere from 90 minutes to 2 hours, depending on the last time you received dental care, and if you have major concerns you want to address with the doctor. Appointments for children under 18 should only take about an hour. After the initial visit, appointments will only be 1 hour long. At your appointment, we will provide a comprehensive exam, take a set of diagnostic X-rays if they are due, complete a periodontal charting (if over the age of 18), and a cleaning. If Dr. Wang sees any concerns, she will address them with you and schedule a time for you to come back a different day unless our schedule provides enough time for same-day care.

Why are X-rays needed?

X-rays are an essential tool in helping dental professionals diagnose and treat oral health issues that may not be visible to the human eye. X-rays can be used to assess bone levels, detect existing or recurring decay, and spot infections or lesions at the root of the tooth. We understand if you may be uncomfortable with the idea of yearly X-rays; however, our dentist and hygienists may not be able to provide you with the proper care based on an incomplete diagnosis. That is why, if you choose to go this route, you will kindly be asked to sign an X-ray refusal form releasing Maple Leaf Dental of any liability relating to the failure of diagnosing or treating underlying conditions.

If I’m sick, should I call in?

If you are actively sick or starting to show symptoms, please don’t hesitate to reach out and reschedule your appointment. Although we practice safe and effective cleaning protocols in our office, it’s better to prevent the spread of germs by isolating yourself from others.
